Cheryl - Owner and Head Instructor

Cheryl is a published writer, magazine model, and award winning dancer and choreographer. She has been training and performing in many forms of dance for over twenty years and has spent years studying movement and dance theory. Cheryl has continued her training to specialize in the Egyptian style of dance by studying with many of the best dancers in Egypt. She has incorporated the graceful movements and unique staging of ballet into this in-depth study of Egyptian movement, culminating in the innovative and graceful styling that makes her a popular performer across the United States and beyond.

Sommer

Sommer fell into bellydancing while attending a self defense class taught by Cheryl's husband. She was immediately fascinated with the dance and was eager to learn and experience it for herself. Dancing with Cheryl and Tribal Rhythm for over 6 years now, she assists in teaching classes and has taught the Bodyshaker workout class. She has performed throughout Texas and New Mexico in restaurants, shows, competitions and parties. Bellydancing has been a wonderful experience and she looks forward to the years to come!

Alexis

Alexis has been dancing for two and a half years. She was intoduced to dance through a friend and immediately fell in love with bellydancing. Alexis was attracted to the feministic nature, graceful movements, and powerful presence the dance represents. She is the teacher of the Monday night workout class and loves being a part of bringing fitness to her students.

Olivia

Olivia is Cheryl's daughter and already an experienced and talented dancer. She has traveled to California, Oklahoma, and New Mexico to study and perform. In addition to tribal fusion and cabaret dance, she has a passion for hip-hop dance and peforms it at an advanced level. Olivia is also an accomplished actress and has been seen in productions at the Lubbock Boston Ave Playhouse. She teaches a children's bellydance class called Livie's Little Ones and continues to perform as an advanced student.

Kayla

Kayla fell in love with Bellydance the day she saw U2's "Mysterious Ways" music video. Ever since then she's been obsessed! She is especially crazy about Tribal Fusion and the strong representation of womanhood that bellydance entails. She currently substitutes in the Monday and Wednesday aerobic classes and adds a cardiovascular edge to the workout regimen.

Ashley

Ashley has been dancing with Cheryl for just over a year. Bellydancers at the Carolina Renaissance Festival first drew her to this beautiful and exotic art form. Outside of dance she enjoys riding and spending time with horses. She is currently a junior at Texas Tech University majoring in Animal Science. The bellydancing class at the Texas Tech recreation center is her first teaching experience.
